1. The Competition shall be played for annually on the first Thursday in May
2. The Competition will be played over 17 ends
3. Two points will be awarded to a winning rink and one point in a drawn game.
4. The winning Club shall be the one with the highest number of points.
5. In the event of two or more clubs finishing with equal points, then the winner will be determined by the total amount of shots obtained. If this fails to deliver a result then the total number of winning ends will be counted to provide a result.
6. If a game is stopped either by mutual consent of the 4 Skips on the green or by the umpires, in consultation with the Secretary of the Norwood Trophy, and cannot be resumed within half an hour, the Competition will be stopped.
7. If eleven or more ends have been played by the competing teams, the result of the Competition will be decided by the scores as at the eleventh end. (except where a team has played 17 ends)
8. If the Competition is not resumed after half an hour, and agreed with the Norwood Secretary, it will not take place.
9. A new date will be decided by a meeting of the participating Clubs
10. A prize will be awarded to the highest up rink overall from the competing Clubs.
11. The foregoing Rules shall apply until further notice
Custom and Practice.
Clubs are reminded that to maintain the Norwood fellowship:
- Club Presidents are not expected to play in the completion, but follow their teams around the venues, finally ending up at the Host Club.
- Club representatives are expected to visit each of the clubs during the matches.
